Attendance & Cancellation Policy
for Silver Lining Acupuncture
At Silver Lining Acupuncture, we are deeply committed to making care accessible. We recognize the barriers that often make healthcare cost-prohibitive and are proud to serve our community with compassion and integrity.
Please be aware that late cancellations and missed appointments hurt our small business. Our providers do not double-book, and are only compensated when you attend your session.
When you book an appointment, you are reserving time and space that becomes unavailable to others. We often have a waitlist, and a late cancellation or missed appointment leaves a hole in our day that could have been filled by someone one else.
We require credit card information at the time of booking, which will only be charged in the event of a missed appointment or late cancellation.
To honor our practitioners' time and protect access for all patients, we strictly enforce the following policies:
❌ $50 Late Cancellation / No-Show Fee Applies in the Following Situations:
Canceling an appointment with less than 24 hours' notice
Not showing up for a scheduled appointment
Arriving 15 minutes or more late
Failing to complete all online intake forms prior to the start time of your first visit
This fee is not billable to insurance and will be charged to your card on file.
📆 Additional Scheduling Policies
New patients who no-show or late cancel their initial appointment will not be permitted to reschedule a second time.
Established patients who no-show or late cancel twice in a row will lose any recurring appointment slots and may only book one visit at a time.
Established patients who no-show or late cancel three times within a 6 month period will be removed from the schedule and referred to a provider outside of Silver Lining Acupuncture LLC.
These policies also apply to TriWest VA-CCN veterans and OHP patients, even if a cancellation fee is not collected.
đź•’ Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time—sessions will end at the scheduled time, even if you arrive late.
A 10-minute grace period may be available— please notify us if you’re running behind.
If you're more than 15 minutes late, we cannot guarantee that you'll be seen. Our office manager will assess whether we can offer a shortened session or will need to reschedule you (subject to the $50 fee).
đź“„ Online Intake Forms
We are a paperless practice. All intake forms must be completed online at least 24 hours before your first visit.
Access your forms via the “Manage My Appointment” link or the Patient Portal
If your forms are not completed in full before your appointment start time, your appointment will be canceled, and you will be charged the $50 late cancellation fee
📲 Appointment Reminders
We offer email and text reminders as a courtesy. You are still responsible for managing your appointment even if you:
Don’t receive an email or text reminder
Have unsubscribed or missed notifications
Reminders are sent:
By email: 72 and 26 hours in advance
By text: 48 hours and 2 hours in advance
🧾 Insurance
Please double check your insurance benefits before the 24-hour cancellation window to avoid fees related to non-coverage or unmet deductibles.
If you notify us of an insurance change less than 24 hours before your appointment, and your appointment must be canceled or rescheduled, our late cancellation fee will apply.
